Siv Air Cairns offers 3 levels of Air Conditioner cleaning on all makes and models of air conditioners: Basic, Hydro and Chemical strip and Clean. As a bonus, all Air Conditioners serviced by Siv Air will also receive a free treatment of Environmental Air Solutions - a locally made natural tea tree product designed to help kill mould and bacteria

  • Firstly we will check for the correct amount of refrigerant.
  • Then we will remove, clean and treat the return air filters.
  • We then inspect the drain and drain pan for blockages and clear as required.
  • Fan motors are checked for noise and overall performance.
  • The electric current draw of the unit (volts and amps) is tested for safe operation.
  • Finally we will treat the air conditioner with with an all natural tea tree product, designed to inhibit the regrowth of mould, mildew, bacteria and fungi.

  • How often should I clean my air conditioner?

    That really depends on how much you use your air conditioner.  We recommend getting them cleaned at least once a year for average households or more regularly for heavy use.

  • How long should my air conditioner last?

    Most air conditioners are covered under warranty for up to 5 years.  With regular cleaning and maintenance, they can last as long as 10 years or more.

  • What areas do you offer air conditioner cleaning in?

    We are based in Cairns and service from Innisfail to Port Douglas and up to the Atherton Tablelands.

  • What is involved with air conditioner cleaning?

    Air conditioner cleaning is more than just cleaning the air filters and outside of your air conditioner.  A large waterproof bag is placed under your air conditioner to collect the runoff and prevent any damage to your property.  We then use a natural and safe chemical solution that kills off any mould spores, fungi, and bacteria and once it’s had a chance to work, we use a special pressure washer to flush out the internals of the machine ensuring it is 100% clean and safe.

  • How long does air conditioner cleaning take?

    It does depend a little on how dirty the air conditioner is however, our air conditioner cleaning services usually take around 30-30 minutes per unit.

  • What signs should I look for that my air conditioner needs cleaning?

    If you turn on your air conditioner and it smells musty or unpleasant, that’s usually a good sign that you might be overdue for a clean.  Other signs may include, health problems such as frequent colds and flus, respiratory issues, hayfever, allergies, asthma attacks, headaches and more.

  • When is the best time to get my air conditioner cleaned?

    The cooler months are a great time to get your air conditioner cleaning done as your system has likely been working hard over the warmer months and may need some TLC.  Winter/Dry season is also cold and flu season so ensuring you haven’t got any nasty mould or mildew lurking in your air conditioner is a good idea.  Otherwise, we are always happy to come out any time of year.

  • Can you do air conditioner cleaning at my workplace?

    Yes of course!  All air conditioners should be cleaned regularly, especially those with lots of different people coming into the building.  It is a great way to help reduce sick days in the office too.
